While it may have been a quieter night of hockey on the ice, that certainly wasn't the case off the ice.
After Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman initially reported that trade talks regarding Elias Lindholm were heating up between the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks, it didn't take long for social media to erupt with speculation on what the deal would look like.
And once the trade officially dropped, mixed reviews came flying in from both sides.
In exchange for sending Lindholm to the Canucks, the Flames received Andrei Kuzmenko, prospects Hunter Brzustewicz and Joni Jurmo, and a first-round and conditional fourth-round pick in 2024.
On Vancouver's end, some fans and media considered it a hefty price to pay, while others were excited by yet another sign that Vancouver is going all-in this year.
Meanwhile, on Calgary's side of the trade, the response was a mix of sadness at seeing Lindholm go after six seasons with the team and excitement over the pickup for their pending UFA.
