Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Joel Edmundson might return to the lineup as early as Thursday against the New Jersey Devils after missing the past six games with an injury, head coach Sheldon Keefe said on Monday.
Edmundson last played on March 26 against the Carolina Hurricanes, after which he was sidelined with an undisclosed injury.
The 30-year-old was acquired by the Maple Leafs from the Washington Capitals ahead of the trade deadline on March 7 in exchange for draft picks.
In 51 games split between the Maple Leafs and Capitals this season, Edmundson has one goal and five assists for six points. He has yet to record a point as a member of the Maple Leafs.
