Travis Green will be joining New Jersey Devils' coaching staff in the position vacated by Andrew Brunette, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.
Green had other options including openings as an assistant coach with the Calgary Flames, and Toronto Maple Leafs but ultimately chose the Devils.
The 52-year-old returns to the NHL after spending five seasons as the Vancouver Canucks head coach. He led the Canucks to the Western Conference Final in the Edmonton bubble in 2020 where they were eliminated by the Vegas Golden Knights.
Brunette joined the Nashville Predators as their head coach replacing John Hynes.
