• Utah defenceman Juuso Valimaki clears waivers

    Utah Hockey Club defenceman Juuso Valimaki cleared waivers on Monday.

    Valimaki will now be assigned to the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League.

    The 26-year-old from Tampere, Finland, has two goals and three assists in 43 games with Utah this season. He is also a minus-5 and averaging 16:33 in ice time.

    Valimaki was a member of Team Finland at the 4 Nations Face-Off but was a healthy scratch for all three games.

    He was drafted in the first round, 16th overall, by the Calgary Flames in 2017.

    The Arizona Coyotes claimed him off waivers from the Flames in 2022.

    Valimaki has 72 points (11 goals and 61 assists) in 271 career games over six seasons with Calgary, Arizona and Utah.
