As the Utah Hockey Club continues it's maiden campaign, they'll be without one of their bright young forwards for the foreseeable future.
The team announced Friday that Logan Cooley will be out indefinitely with a lower-body injury and that he will be re-evaluated following the 4 Nations Face-Off break.
Though it's not immediately clear when Cooley suffered the injury, Deseret News' Brogan Houston reported earlier Friday that the 20-year-old was not present for practice. He participated in Wednesday's loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Cooley was selected with the third-overall pick by the then-Arizona Coyotes at the 2022 NHL Draft. He was named to the NHL All-Rookie team in 2024 after finishing his first season with 20 goals and 44 points in 82 games.
In 50 games so far, he's potted 15 goals and 28 assists — good for second in team scoring.
