Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko took to the ice on Tuesday, giving hope to fans he could soon make his return to action.
Demko, 28, has not played since departing a 5-0 win over the Jets on March 9 midway through the second period, after making 12 saves. The native of San Diego is 34-13-2 this season as the Canucks have soared to the top of the Pacific Division with 100 points.
But Demko's absence, due to an undisclosed injury, has seen the team win just four times in eight games, so the prospect of his return is encouraging news for the club.
Backup Casey DeSmith (11-7-6) will get the start on Tuesday night in Las Vegas. He has started all but one of the eight games Demko has been absent, with call-up Arturs Silovs getting the other on Sunday against the Ducks.
