John Tortorella is addressing the media for the first time as head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers, and you can watch his introduction right here on sportsnet.ca.
Tortorella is the 23rd head coach in Flyers franchise history.
Tortorella had most recently been behind the Columbus Blue Jackets' bench for five seasons before getting fired in May 2021. The Boston native, who turns 64 next week, had been a part of the NHL broadcasts on ESPN this past season.
He led the Tampa Bay Lightning to the Stanley Cup in 2004. Tortorella also coached the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks on his way to becoming the second-winningest American-born coach in NHL history with a 673-541-37-132 record.
