The Boston Bruins released defenceman Mitchell Miller from his contract late Sunday night, only two days after initially signing him, following backlash from inside and outside the organization.
Miller plead guilty to one count of assault and one count of violation of the Ohio Safe Schools Act when he was 14 for repeatedly bullying a fellow classmate. The student and his family do not believe Miller has been sufficiently remorseful for his actions.
Boston Bruins president Cam Neely will speak to reporters Monday morning about the decision to sign Miller and how that decision changed over the weekend.
