Before the 4 Nations Face-Off final, Canada coach Jon Cooper told reporters he had been "cooking up" his championship pre-game speech for 12 months.
Cooper, however, added that he needed to make a series of edits based on how the action had unfolded at the event.
So what exactly did Cooper go with on Thursday in Boston?
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman had some details on the Saturday Headlines segment of Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday.
"One of the things a couple players said really stood out to them about Cooper's pre-game speech was he talked about the little moments," Friedman said.
"We always think about the big moments, but you have to handle the little moments. He told them if you handle all the little moments, you're ready for the big ones."
The biggest one came in overtime as Connor McDavid fired home Mitch Marner's pass to give Canada an unforgettable 3-2 win over the United States.
"It's a great line and it obviously worked very well," Friedman said.
