Minnesota Wild leading scorer Mats Zuccarello was placed in COVID-19 protocol as the team continues to struggle with the virus.
The team made the announcement Thursday.
Also placed in the protocol was Rem Pitlick. To help fill the gaps, the Wild recalled Connor Dewar, Kyle Rau and Jon Lizotte from AHL Iowa.
Zuccarello, 34, had three goals and four assists in six games for the Wild this season.
It was previously reported by The Athletic that assistant coach Darby Hendrickson, goalie coach Frédéric Chabot and video coach T.J. Jindra were placed in COVID protocol and did not join the team for the West Coast trip. GM Bill Guerin was also recently placed in COVID protocol.
The Wild cancelled practice Wednesday in Seattle.
