The Minnesota Wild have signed defenceman Jordie Benn to a one-year, $900,000 contract, the team announced Friday.
Benn had one goal and nine assists in 39 games last season split between the Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets. He also added one assist in three playoff games with the Jets, who acquired the veteran rearguard from the Canucks on April 12 in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick.
The 34-year-old from Victoria, who is the older brother of Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn, has 24 goals and 103 assists in 556 games over 10 seasons with the Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Canucks and Jets.
