The Minnesota Wild have traded veteran defenceman Dmitry Kulikov to the Anaheim Ducks for future considerations.
The move helps the Wild clear Kulikov's $2.25-million salary off the books as buyouts for Zach Parise and Ryan Suter tighten the cap for the upcoming season. It also opens the door for one of a number top defencemen prospects — possibly Calen Addison.
Kulikov, 31, had seven goals and 24 points with a plus-23 rating in 80 games last season. He has 198 career points in 805 career games in 13 seasons with the Panthers, Sabres, Jets, Devils, Oilers and Wild.
