Minnesota Wild centre Joel Eriksson Ek exited Friday's Game 3 against the Dallas Stars after taking the opening shift.
Eriksson Ek left for the dressing room early in the first period right after his 19-second shift.
The 26-year-old took the opening faceoff before battling for position in front of the Wild's net and heading off the ice.
After the game, Wild coach Dean Evason said Eriksson Ek was evaluated during the game and will be looked at again on Saturday, but did not elaborate further on the injury.
Eriksson Ek suffered a lower-body injury on April 6 and at the time was considered week-to-week. He had 61 points in 78 games this season and contributed heavily to both special teams.
