Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman is scheduled to have a hearing on Monday after slew-footing Detroit Red Wings winger Alex DeBrincat, the NHL's department of player safety announced on Sunday.
The incident happened in the third period as Hartman was going after Red Wings centre Michael Rasmussen, who had the puck.
The play ended up as a no-call for Hartman but DeBrincat was given a cross-checking penalty after retaliating. The Red Wings would go after Hartman again later on in the frame as both he and Moritz Seider were given roughing penalties for going after one another.
The Wild ended up losing the game 4-1, dropping their seventh consecutive game. They are also the NHL's third-most penalized team this season, earning 12.1 penalty minutes per game.
Earlier in the week, Vancouver Canucks winger Nils Hoglander had a hearing for slew-footing San Jose's Kevin Labanc. He received a fine of $2,864.58, the maximum under the league's collective bargaining agreement.
Hartman currently has seven goals and 11 points this season.
