Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman will have a hearing Monday for unsportsmanlike conduct after he threw his stick in the direction of an official during Saturday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Hartman has been suspended three times and fined six times in his career, most recently in November for tripping Detroit Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat.
According to The Athletic's Michael Russo, if the league had considered Hartman's actions abuse of an official and not unsportsmanlike conduct, he would have received an automatic three-game suspension.
The Golden Knights won Saturday's 2-1 game in overtime after scoring on an empty Minnesota net.
The 29-year-old winger has 19 goals and 42 points in 68 games this season for Minnesota.
The Wild are currently seven points back of the Los Angeles Kings for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference with a 35-28-10 record. Their next game is on Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators.
