Winnipeg Jets forward Nino Niederreiter will be sidelined for about a week after suffering a deep cut to his leg, head coach Rick Bowness told reporters on Wednesday.
Niederreiter needed a few stitches in his leg after getting cut during Monday's win over the Los Angeles Kings. Forward Adrian Kempe got tangled with Niederreiter and cut his leg as he went down to the ice.
Jets forward Sean Monahan and Adam Lowry got a maintenance day and did not participate in practice Wednesday, while defenceman Logan Stanley was absent because of an illness.
Tyler Toffoli was back at practice, skating on the third line with Mason Appleton and David Gustafsson after missing Monday's practice with an illness.
