Winnipeg Jets' Mark Scheifele day-to-day with lower-body injury

Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness provides an injury update on Mark Scheifele and explains why forward Nikolaj Ehlers left practice early, but is hopeful both will suit up for the Jets' game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Winnipeg Jets star Mark Scheifele is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, coach Rick Bowness told reporters on Friday.

Bowness did not rule out Scheifele for Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The day-to-day listing is good news for the Jets, who lost Scheifele early in the second period of Thursday's win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

The 30-year-old Scheifele leads the team in scoring with 41 points (14 goals, 27 assists) in 41 games this season.

Meanwhile, Nikolaj Ehlers left practice Friday with an upper-body injury, but Bowness said the forward is expected to play Saturday.
