Avalanche defenceman Devon Toews to return for Game 5 vs. Stars

The Colorado Avalanche will get a blue-line boost with the return of Devon Toews for Game 5 on Wednesday against the Dallas Stars.

Toews missed Game 4 with an illness.

Caleb Jones came into the lineup in his place.

Coach Jared Bednar said earlier this week the absence was not related to a hit Toews took from the Stars’ Jamie Benn in the second period of Game 2.

The Abbotsford, B.C., native has one goal and six points in eight playoff games.

The Avalanche trail 3-1 in the series.
