One of Nathan MacKinnon’s linemates now has his status up in the air for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Colorado Avalanche winger Jonathan Drouin left Tuesday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers with an undisclosed injury.
Drouin exited the game after an awkward fall into the boards last in the second period. He was a plus-1 in 14:58 of ice time before he was forced to leave.
After the game, Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar had no update on Drouin’s status.
Last season, Drouin struggled with the Montreal Canadiens. But in his first season on the Avalanche’s top line, the 29-year-old forward set a career-high in points.
Drouin finished with 19 goals and 37 assists for 56 points in 79 games.
The Avalanche have two days off before they open Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday against the Winnipeg Jets.
