Blue Jackets sign defenceman Marcus Bjork to one-year, two-way deal

The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed blueliner Marcus Bjork to a one-year, two-way contract extension, the club announced on Friday.

Bjork, 25, split last season between the Columbus Blue Jackets and their AHL affiliate Cleveland Monster.

Signed out of the SHL last May, the right-shot defenceman had a productive season at the NHL level last year, tallying three goals and 11 points in 33 games for the Blue Jackets. As his production wavered during the later half of the year, however, the Swede much of his time in the AHL, where he recorded seven goals and 15 points in 44 games.

The defenceman was set to become a restricted free agent at the conclusion of his deal.
