Brind’Amour, Brunette, Bednar and DeBoer named coaches for NHL All-Star game

Rod Brind’Amour, Andrew Brunette, Jared Bednar and Peter DeBoer have been named as head coaches for the 2022 NHL All-Star game, the league announced Tuesday.

Coaches were determined based on which teams had the best points percentage in their respective divisions at the conclusion of Monday’s games.

Brind’Amour’s Carolina Hurricanes lead the Metropolitan Division with a .758 mark (24-7-2), Brunette’s Florida Panthers are ahead in the Atlantic Division at .729 (23-7-5), Bednar’s Colorado Avalanche top the Central Division at .719 (22-8-2), and DeBoer’s Vegas Golden Knights are first in the Pacific Division at .618 (23-14-1).

The All-Star Game rosters, including the captains as selected by the fans, will be announced Thursday at 6 p.m. ET on Hockey Central.

The NHL All-Star Game is scheduled Feb. 5 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
