Bruins acquire defenceman Andrew Peeke from Blue Jackets for Zboril

After having trouble staying in the Columbus Blue Jackets’ lineup this season, defenceman Andrew Peeke has been traded to the Boston Bruins for forward Jakub Zboril.

The Blue Jackets will also acquire a 2027 third-round pick in the trade.

Peeke has two years left on a three-year deal with an annual cap hit of $2.75 million.

The 25-year-old Florida native has one goal and seven assists for eight points in 23 games for the Blue Jackets this season.

A second-round pick (34th overall) by the Blue Jackets in the 2016 NHL Draft, the six-foot-three Peeke has 10 goals and 32 assists for 42 points in 218 career games with Columbus.

Zboril has not played a game for the Bruins in 2023-24, but has one goal and 15 assists in 76 NHL games over the four previous seasons.
