The Boston Bruins have signed defenceman Billy Sweezey to a two-year, two-way contract, with an average annual value of $775,000, the team announced on Monday.
Sweezey, 28, spent the 2023-24 season with the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters, logging one goal and three assists. The six-foot-one, 206-pound defenceman has totalled 205 career AHL games to this point, split between the Monsters and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, putting up 30 points (five goals, 25 assists).
The Hanson, Mass. native was originally signed as a free agent by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2022. He’s made nine career NHL appearances with the club, tallying one assist.
