The Boston Bruins have signed veteran blue-liner Kevan Miller to a one-year contract worth $1.25 million.
Miller, 32, has been out for 18 months due to a knee injury that required four surgeries and put his NHL career in question.
“I’d be totally lying to you if there weren’t some times where I was staring at myself in the mirror going, ‘I don’t know if this is going to work, if I’m ever going to make it back,'” Miller told Bruins reporter Eric Russo after signing his new deal.
Miller last played for the Bruins in 2018-19, suiting up for 39 games while recording seven assists.
Signed by Boston as an undrafted free agent in March 2011, the Los Angeles native has played his entire NHL career with the Bruins – 324 regular-season games with 67 points and 261 penalty minutes, adding six points and 16 PIMs in 29 post-season games.
