Bruins’ Krejci leaves game vs. Red Wings with upper-body injury

The Boston Bruins announced that forward David Krejci has left his team’s game against the Detroit Red Wings with an upper-body injury.

The veteran took a late hit and received a high stick on the side of the head from Red Wings centre Michael Rasmussen with just under 12 minutes remaining in the second period. Krejci dropped his stick and slowly retreated to the Bruins’ locker room. He did not return in the third period.

The 36 year-old returned for a 16th season with the Bruins after spending one season in his native Czechia. Krejci picked up two goals and six assists in eight games.
