Bruins’ Krejci ruled out for Game 3 vs. Panthers with upper-body injury

Boston Bruins forward David Krejci has been ruled out for Friday’s Game 3 against the Florida Panthers due to an upper-body injury, the team announced.

Nick Foligno took Krejci’s spot in the lineup.

After the game, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery told reporters that they “knew there was a good chance he wasn’t going to play tonight.” He also said that Krejci will be 50/50 for Game 4 on Sunday.

With Patrice Bergeron also out of the lineup, Friday will mark the first playoff game the Bruins have played without either of the two forwards since the 2003 post-season, when Boston took on the New Jersey Devils in the first round.

After a historic regular season, the Bruins find themselves tied at 1-1 with the Panthers in their opening-round playoff series.
