Boston Bruins forward Jakub Lauko was cut in the face by a skate and forced out of Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
After the game, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery said that Lauko is “good” and that he “will be fine.”
The incident came midway through the third period when Lauko fell to the ice while players from both sides battled for the puck along the board near the Blackhawks bench. Blackhawks forward Jason Dickinson was pushed into the boards by Bruins rookie John Beecher and as Dickinson lost his balance, his left skate lifted off the ice and cut Lauko in the face.
Lauko was rushed off the ice and down the tunnel to the Bruins locker room with a towel.
Lauko, 23, appeared in 23 games with the Bruins last season and has played in all six games this season. He has seven points in his career.
