Bruins’ Marchand exits game vs. Sabres with lower-body injury

Boston Bruins star forward Brad Marchand has been ruled out for the remainder of Thursday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres due to a lower-body injury, the team announced.

Marchand went to the dressing room with time remaining in the second period, his last shift ending with 5:55 left in frame.

The 34-year-old exited the Bruins’ Feb. 27 game against the Edmonton Oilers after a leg-on-leg collision with Oilers defenceman Darnell Nurse. He ended up returning to the game after a brief absence.

Going into Thursday’s contest, Marchand had scored 19 goals and recorded 34 assists with a plus-25 rating in 52 appearances this season.
