Bruins’ Marchand suspended 3 games for slew-footing Canucks’ Ekman-Larsson

Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand has been suspended three games, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced on Monday.

Marchand was suspended for slew-footing Vancouver Canucks defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson during a game Sunday. The incident occurred at 1:08 in the first period.

Marchand will forfeit $91,875 of his salary, per the NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The earliest Marchand can return is Dec. 8, when the Bruins take on the Canucks in Vancouver.
