The Boston Bruins have signed defenceman Ian Mitchell to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000, the team announced Sunday.
Mitchell, 25, spent the majority of the 2023-24 season with the AHL’s Providence Bruins, recording 24 points (six goals and 18 assists) over 42 games.
He also appeared in 13 games with Boston, where he recorded two more assists.
Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round (57th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft, Mitchell was acquired by the Bruins in an off-season trade last June.
Across 95 career NHL games, the Alberta native has a total of 18 points (four goals and 14 assists).
