Buffalo Sabres add F Sam Lafferty on two-year deal

The Sabres are adding a physical presence along their front line.

Buffalo is signing forward Sam Lafferty on a two-year, $2 million contract, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.

Lafferty, 29, spent last season with the Vancouver Canucks, tallying 13 goals and 11 assists in 79 games. Additionally, he had 191 hits, finishing third on the Canucks in that stat.

After being drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2014, he has spent chunks of his five NHL seasons with four different teams, including a stop in Toronto after being dealt there at the 2023 NHL trade deadline.
