Buffalo Sabres sign Felix Sandstrom to a one-year, two-way contract

The Buffalo Sabres have inked a one-year, two-way contract with goaltender Felix Sandstrom, the team announced on Monday.

The 27-year-old netminder spent the 2023-2024 campaign predominantly with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL, the minor league affiliate to the Philadelphia Flyers. He appeared in 30 games with the Phantoms, earning 13 wins, while also getting the call for five NHL contests.

The six-foot-two, Gavle, Sweden native was originally drafted by the Flyers in the third round of the 2015 NHL draft and has remained within their organization since. He has gone on to play in a total of 88 games in the AHL, recording a 2.95 goals against average and a .899 save percentage. He also suited up for a total of 30 NHL games across his career, posting a 3.66 GAA and a .880 save percentage during that time.
