Cam Atkinson joins Lightning after buyout from Flyers

The Tampa Bay Lightning are adding Cam Atkinson to the bottom six of their lineup.

Atkinson and the Lightning agreed to a one-year, $900,000 contract on Tuesday.

Atkinson, 35, was a free agent after the Flyers bought out his contract. He will earn $1,758,333 from the Flyers for the next two seasons because of the buyout, according to CapFriendly.com.

Atkinson is a 12-year NHL veteran who has appeared in 770 games with the Flyers and Columbus Blue Jackets. A five-foot-eight right wing, he has scored 249 goals and 480 points in his career.
