Canada WJC goalie Dylan Garand signs entry-level deal with Rangers

Canadian world junior championship goalie Dylan Garand has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with the New York Rangers, the team announced Thursday.

Garand, 19, was selected by the Rangers 103rd overall in the 2020 NHL Draft. He currently leads the WHL (min. two games) with a .932 save percentage in net for the Kamloops Blazers.

The six-foot, 173-pound goaltender gets set to feature in a second consecutive world juniors after playing one game for Canada last year. He’ll share the crease with Brett Brochu and Sebastian Cossa during the tournament that begins on Boxing Day. Canada also plays a pre-tournament game against Russia on Thursday.
