Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland was forced to leave Monday’s game against the Minnesota Wild after blocking a shot in the second period.
Garland blocked a shot from Joel Eriksson Ek with the inside of his right leg. He went down and then hobbled to the team’s locker room.
The 27-year-old forward came into Monday’s game with 11 goals and 17 assists this season. Garland, Teddy Blueger and Dakota Joshua have formed a very productive third line for the Canucks in 2023-24.
Garland signed a five-year, $24.75-million contract with the Canucks in July of 2021. He was drafted 123rd overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2015 NHL Draft.
