Canucks make Kuzmenko a healthy scratch for second straight game

For the second consecutive game, the Vancouver Canucks have healthy scratched winger Andrei Kuzmenko, who will sit for Saturday’s game against the San Jose Sharks.

A 39-goal scorer last year that earned him a two-year, $11 million contract, Kuzmenko has been off to a slow start and has been held goalless for his last nine games. Going through the patented sophomore slump, the 27-year-old Russian has just three goals in 19 games.

Sam Lafferty skated in Kuzmenko’s place on the Elias Pettersson-Ilya Mikheyev line in Friday’s win against the Seattle Kraken and appears to be on that line again in San Jose.

You can watch the Canucks take on the Sharks at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
