Canucks’ Pearson undergoes hand surgery, out 4-6 weeks

Vancouver Canucks forward Tanner Pearson underwent successful hand surgery and will be out four to six weeks, the club announced Thursday.

Pearson was unable to finish Wednesday’s loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

Earlier Thursday, the Canucks called up forward Sheldon Dries from their AHL affiliate in Abbotsford, B.C..

Before the injury, Pearson had been struggling on the ice with one goal and five points for the Canucks through 14 games.

Dries has four points in two games this year for Abbotsford and has recorded one assist in the four games he’s already played for Vancouver this season.

The Canucks are 4-7-3 on the season and next play Saturday in Toronto on Hockey Night in Canada.
