The Vancouver Canucks finally made their first pick of the 2024 NHL Draft.
With it, Vancouver selected forward Melvin Fernstrom of Orebro in the SHL 93rd overall in the third round.
Fernstrom, 18, spent most of last season with Orebro’s junior side, tallying 31 goals and 32 goals in 45 games. He was called up to the senior team for a short stretch but didn’t pick up any points in six games.
The right winger also played three playoff games for the side but also didn’t pick up any points.
