Vancouver Canucks defenceman Carson Soucy left Friday’s pre-season game against the Calgary Flames with an undisclosed injury.
Soucy appeared to get tangled up with Flames forward Yegor Sharangovich along the boards and fell to the ice late in the second period. He remained on the bench for a while before eventually heading into the locker room.
He did not return for the start of the third period and was ruled out shortly after.
Soucy, 28, joined the Canucks on a three-year, $9.75 million contract in the off-season after being in Seattle for the past two seasons. He scored three goals and had 16 points last season.
He scored his first goal as a Canuck in their 2-1 pre-season loss to the Kraken.
Friday’s game against the Flames was the Canucks’ last pre-season game before beginning their regular season on Oct. 11 against the Edmonton Oilers.
