The Washington Capitals claimed forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel off waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
Aubel-Kubel played six games with the Maple Leafs and didn’t record a point.
The Slave Lake, Alta., native joined Toronto on a one-year, $1 million contract in July after hoisting the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche.
