The Washington Capitals have signed goaltender Craig Anderson to a professional tryout agreement.

Anderson spent the last 10 seasons with the Ottawa Senators. The 39-year-old went 11-17-2 with a 3.25 goals-against average and .902 save percentage in 34 games last season.

In his NHL career, Anderson posted a 2.84 GAA and a .913 save percentage in 648 games played for Ottawa, the Colorado Avalanche, Florida Panthers and Chicago Blackhawks. Anderson ranks first in Senators history for wins and second in shutouts behind Patrick Lalime.

Earlier this year, the Senators announced that they would not be offering a new contract to Anderson. The veteran netminder later said that he hoped to continue his NHL career.
