Capitals sign Hardy Haman Aktell to one-year, two-way contract

The Washington Capitals are bringing back a key member of the Hershey Bears’ Calder Cup-winning team.

Washington announced Wednesday that it has re-signed defenceman Hardy Häman Aktell agreed to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 at the NHL level.

Häman Aktell, 25, appeared in six NHL games with the Capitals, recording one assist.

For the Bears, the six-foot-three defender skated in 55 games, recording two goals and 11 points, but in the Calder Cup Playoffs, Häman Aktell upped his offensive game.

Häman Aktell was originally a fourth-round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2016.
