Khudobin has spent the past two seasons with the Stars, going 32-25-9 in 71 total regular-season appearances.
“Anton’s play over the past two seasons has been nothing short of exceptional,” Stars general manager Jim Nill said in a press release. “The immense skill and unmatched work ethic we’ve known Anton (to) possess were on display for the entire hockey world to see during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. His impact on our team has been immeasurable and we’re excited for Anton to continue his success with the Stars.”
The 34-year-old Russian played some of the best hockey of his professional career this summer during Dallas’s trip to the Stanley Cup Final.
Khudobin took over from Ben Bishop as the team’s starter and ended up starting 24 games in the playoffs, posting a .918 save percentage and 2.69 goals-against average that don’t really do justice to how impressive his performance was.
With Khudobin signed and Bishop still under contract for another three years, Dallas has nearly $8.5 million in annual salary cap space committed to the veteran goalie tandem.
