Dallas Stars reveal list of injuries following Stanley Cup Playoffs run

The trip to the Stanley Cup Final for the Dallas Stars came with some sacrifice as the team announced a lengthy list of injuries following their playoff run.

Captain Jamie Benn had surgery on his shoulder prior to the pandemic but still managed to put up eight goals and 19 points in 27 playoff games. Tyler Seguin was dealing with knee issues during the regular season and suffered a torn labrum in his hip which will require four months of rehab time. Seguin only managed two goals and 13 points in 26 games during the post-season.

Anton Khudobin had surgery on his arm after the goalie was dealing with numbness in his hands because of a nerve issue. The pending free agent goaltender played in 25 games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, posting a .917 save percentage and 2.69 GAA.

The team’s defence was also dealing with a number of injuries as star defenceman Miro Heiskanen suffered a hip injury during the Western Conference Final against the Vegas Golden Knights. John Klingberg also hurt his shoulder during round-robin play and Esa Lindell was dealing with a hand injury.

Unfortunately, some of the injuries were too much for members of the team to play through, including a fractured ankle and injured hip for Roope Hintz, a broken wrist for Radek Faksa and a separated shoulder for Blake Comeau. Goaltender Ben Bishop also had to deal with knee surgery in May and was unfit to play for most of the team’s post-season play.
