Detroit Red Wings sign Tory Dello to a one-year, two-way contract

The Detroit Red Wings have signed defenceman Tory Dello to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced on Thursday.

During the 2023-2024 season, the six-foot, right-handed blueliner suited up for the Carolina Hurricanes’ AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. He appeared in 65 games, tallying three goals and 10 assists.

The 27-year-old, Lakewood, IL. native has totalled 118 games across his AHL career. He’s split his time between Detroit’s Grand Rapids Griffins, Montreal’s Laval Rocket and most recently with the Wolves.

From 2016-2020, Dello attended Notre Dame to play with the Fighting Irish of the NCAA. There, he put up 40 points through 154 games before going undrafted and signing with the Griffins at the end of the 2019-2020 season.
