Devils’ Jack Hughes sidelined with upper-body injury

New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes will not play Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs because of an upper-body injury, head coach Travis Green announced.

The Devils coach could not confirm if the injury will keep the 22-year-old out long-term.

Hughes scored a goal and logged 22:22 minutes of ice time in the Devils’ 3-2 shootout loss to the Nashville Predators.

Hughes missed 11 games back in January with an upper-body injury and the Devils struggled with him out going, 4-6-1 over that stretch.

New Jersey has four games left in their schedule including a two-game home-and-home set this week against Toronto. The Devils are five points out of the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
