Devils players Michael McLeod, Cal Foote granted leave of absence

The New Jersey Devils announced Wednesday that forward Michael McLeod and defenceman Cal Foote have each requested and been granted an indefinite leave of absence from the team.

The Devils said in a statement the club would have no further comment.

Both players were absent from practice on Wednesday.

McLeod, who turns 26 next week, is a six-year NHL veteran who has 19 points in 45 games this season.

Foote, 25, has appeared in four games for the Devils this season and skated in 145 NHL games with the Lightning, Predators and Devils over his career.
