The New Jersey Devils have signed goaltender Michael Hutchinson and defenceman Jakub Zboril to professional tryout contracts, the team announced Thursday.

Hutchinson appeared in one game with the Detroit Red Wings last year stopping 33 shots in a 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Dec. 23, 2023.

He also played 32 games with their AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, and posted a 14-14-3 record, 2.89 goals-against average and .892 save percentage with two shutouts.

The 34-year-old from Barrie, Ont., was drafted in the third round, 77th overall, by the Boston Bruins in 2008.

He holds a career 57-62-18 record, 2.93 GAA and .903 save percentage in 154 games over 11 seasons with the Winnipeg Jets, Florida Panthers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets and Red Wings.

Zboril split last year between the Providence Bruins and Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League and registered 13 points, all assists, in 46 games during the regular season. He also contributed four points (one goal and three assists) in 14 playoff games with the Monsters.

The 27-year-old from Brno, Czechia, was drafted in the first round, 13th overall, by Boston in 2015 and was traded to Columbus in March.

Zboril has recorded 16 points (one goal and 15 assists) in 76 career games with Boston.

Both Hutchinson and Zboril will report to training camp on Sept. 18.
