Ducks unveil 30th anniversary jersey with classic eggplant purple and green

The Anaheim Ducks will be rocking some throwback threads this season much to the delight of many NHL fans.

The club announced Wednesday that they would be bringing back their original colour scheme for a select number of games next season in honour of the team’s 30th anniversary.

To unveil the new jersey, the club had second-overall selection Leo Carlsson model the sweater via Hologram to fans attending the club’s official draft party at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

The jersey, a riff on the club’s original branding, was in use by the Ducks (then the Mighty Ducks) between 1993 until 2006, when the club dropped the ‘Mighty’ adjective from their name and became the Anaheim Ducks.

The club has worn other variations of the jersey as an alternate over the years, however, this marks the first time the Ducks have returned to these colours and uniform in particular since 2013.
