Edmonton Oilers sign D Connor Carrick to one-year, two-way contract

The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Connor Carrick to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000, the team announced Monday.

Carrick, 30, has suited up for 242 NHL games over his eight-year career, tallying 13 goals and 37 assists over that span. His last taste of NHL action came in the 2022-23 season while with the Boston Bruins.

Last season he suited up for the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the Seattle Kraken’s AHL affiliate, and picked up nine goals and 25 assists.

The five-foot-10, 198-pound Orland Park, Ill. native was originally selected by the Washington Capitals in the fifth round, 137th overall, of the 2012 NHL Draft.

He was suited up for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins during his time in the league.
